𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

A return from the initial call to the main function is equivalent to calling the exit function with the value returned by the main function as its argument. If the main function executes a return that specifies no value, the termination status returned to the host environment is undefined.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

If a return statement without an expression is executed, and the value of the function call is used by the caller, the behavior is undefined. Reaching the } that terminates a function is equivalent to executing a return statement without an expression.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

If the return type of the main function is a type compatible with int, a return from the initial call to the main function is equivalent to calling the exit function with the value returned by the main function as its

argument; reaching the } that terminates the main function returns a value of 0. If the return type is not compatible with int, the termination status returned to the host environment is unspecifified.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

Comments are used to indicate something to the person reading the code. Comments are treated like a blank by the compiler and do not change anything in the code's actual meaning.

There are two syntaxes used for comments in C, the original /* */ and the slightly newer //. Some documentation systems use specially formatted comments to help produce the documentation for code.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫

Large chunks of code can also be "commented out" using the preprocessor directives #𝐢𝐟 0 𝐚𝐧𝐝 #𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐟. This is useful when the code contains multi-line comments that otherwise would not nest.
